Implantable Wires and Pins

The commercial models that make up the Family of Implantable Wires and Pins consist of surgically invasive implants for long-term use, developed for application in bone fixation, acting as a stabilizer in different types of fractures in different regions, such as: clavicle, femur, tibia, phalanx and metacarpus (hand), radius, ulna, hip, patella, metatarsus, tarsus and phalanx (foot), humerus, fibula and scapula. They can also be used as a guide wire to assist in surgical instrumentation.

The operating principle of Implantable Wires and Pins is to act as a stabilizer, maintaining or reestablishing stability in the region affected by the injury, with the aim of preventing or correcting injuries of varying etiologies or being used as a guide wire to aid in surgical instrumentation.

The product is designed to withstand tensile loads. In this way, it immobilizes the bones and also transmits or relieves mechanical loads on the injured structures.

The product is characterized by supporting mechanical efforts in the required proportion, presenting an elastic modulus and interfaces with the bone suitable for the transmission of forces, being biocompatible and adapting to the bone geometry of structures such as the clavicle, femur, tibia, phalanx and metacarpus (hand), radius, ulna, hip, patella, metatarsus, tarsus and phalanx (foot), humerus, fibula and scapula.
