Cannulated Screw for Small and Large Fragments

Description

The Cannulated Screw for Small and Large Fragments is defined as a fixation device classified as an implantable medical product for long-term use.

The purpose of screws is to achieve bone consolidation in small and large fragment fractures. It can be used on the bones of the patella, humerus, sacroiliac, radius, femur, tibia, calcaneus, condylar fractures, scapula and clavicle.

The product was developed to withstand torsional, compression and tension loads. In this way, it helps to consolidate the fracture, relieving the mechanical loads on the injured segments.

The product is characterized by supporting mechanical efforts in the required proportion, presenting an elastic modulus and interfaces with the bone, suitable for the transmission of forces, and also by being biocompatible and adapting to the bone geometry.

The screws are cannulated, whose purpose is to pass the guide wire, an instrument used to guide the surgeon during the surgical procedure, helping to reduce fractures and providing surgical precision. It has a hexagonal fitting to which the key for inserting and fixing the screw is attached, and has a threaded body (total or partial). Some screw models have a head with a spherical bottom.

The positioning of the screws can be defined through imaging tests that analyze the alignment of the guide wires, before screw insertion.

Implants come in variations in design, diameters and lengths to provide the surgeon with a range of choices for different bone structures and types of fractures. Its measurements have diameters of 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 6.5, 7.0 and 7.3mm and lengths ranging from 8 to 150mm.

The screws are ionized in different colors for better visual identification by the surgical team.
